
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Watch 4 series in India. The company launched two new smartwatches, namely the standard Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic. Both smartwatches come as a successor to the Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch 2 Active. Despite the company having a limited smartwatch lineup, it has helped Samsung top the smartwatch market in India. According to an IDC report, Samsung’s smartwatch shipments registered 860% year-on-year growth, helping the company achieve the number one position in India.
The IDC Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker report states that Samsung ended the June quarter with 41.2 per cent volume market share. It managed to achieve the milestone with last year’s Galaxy Watch 3 and the two-year old Galaxy Watch 2 Active. Samsung has refreshed the lineup this year with the launch of the Galaxy Watch 4 series. Both smartwatches come with a bunch of new features and upgrades over the outgoing models. Samsung has also started accepting pre-orders of the Galaxy Watch 4 series in India. Both wearables go on sale starting September 10.
The Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic come in two models with Bluetooth and LTE versions. The standard Watch 4 Bluetooth variant is priced at Rs 23,999, whereas the LTE variant is priced at Rs 28,999. Galaxy Watch 4 44mm Bluetooth model is priced at Rs 26,999, whereas the LTE model is priced at Rs 31,999. It comes in Black, Green and Silver colours.
Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 4 Classic price in India starts at Rs 31,999 for the 42mm Bluetooth model. The LTE model is priced at Rs 36,999. The 46mm variant also comes in Bluetooth and LTE models. They are priced at Rs 34,999 and Rs 39,999, respectively.
The most notable difference between the two is that the Classic edition has a rotating bezel that can be used to navigate through the menu. The Classic edition also comes in a Stainless Steel case, whereas the standard Watch 4 has an aluminium case. Both watches come with Samsung’s new 5nm Exynos W920 chip. It is paired with 1.5GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The 40mm/ 42mm variants pack a 247 mAh battery, whereas the 44mm/ 46mm variants pack a 361 mAh battery. For more details, click here.
