Meta is constantly introducing new features for WhatsApp and Instagram, given the popularity of these platforms. With additions like Status Updates and Communities, WhatsApp ensures we remain connected with everyone we personally know. This time, WhatsApp has added a feature to personalise the app further with the new ‘Favourites’ Tab. But what exactly is the ‘Favourites’ tab and how can you use this feature? Find out the details below.

What is ‘Choose Your Favourites?’

As the name implies, you can easily find the people and groups that matter most to you at the top of your Calls tab and under the ‘Favourites’ filter in your chats. Remember that this feature is still being implemented for Android users, so you might not see this yet on your app.

Whether you need to update someone about your whereabouts or want to chat with your best friend, this feature will work consistently across your calls and chats.

How to Add People to ‘Your Favourites’ on WhatsApp Android?

  • First, ensure that you have updated the WhatsApp app on your Android smartphone.
  • Next, open WhatsApp. From your chats screen, select the ‘Favourites‘ filter next to the ‘Unread’ filter at the top and choose the contacts and groups you'd like to add.
  • To add Favourites in the Calls tab, tap on Calls in the bottom menu, then tap ‘Add Favourites,’ and select the contacts or groups you want to include.
  • To manage your Favorites, tap the three dots icon at the top-right corner, select Settings, then go to Favourites, followed by Add to Favourites. You can reorder them anytime you like.

That’s how you filter your favourite people and groups in the chats and calls sections. This feature will begin rolling out for Android users starting today. Additionally, it will be available to everyone, including iPhone users, in the coming weeks.
