Actor Sonakshi Sinha has been missing from action for quite some time now and her fans were perplexed at her absence. But now their wait is over with Sonakshi Sinha coming back with her new show called Dahaad, which also marks her debut on OTT. She will be playing the lead in Dahaad, a new original series by Amazon Prime. The release date of the Amazon Original crime drama was just unveiled by Prime Video. Dahaad will now make its Prime Video debut in May after earlier this year becoming the first Indian television series to have its world premiere at The Berlinale International Film Festival.

Sonakshi Sinha features as a small-town police officer. The show was initially announced during Amazon Prime Video’s special “See Where It Takes You” event, which was hosted in April of last year in Mumbai. A teaser was also released on occasion.

The plot centers on Sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati and her coworkers at a police station in a small village. Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati is given the case after a number of women are inexplicably found dead in public restrooms. As the cases develop, Anjali starts to have suspicions that a serial killer may be on the loose. At first, the murders seem to be obvious suicides. As she gathers evidence before another innocent woman loses her life, a skilled criminal and an underdog cop engage in a gripping game of cat and mouse.

Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah, Sohum Shah, Yogi Singha, Sanghmitra Hitaishi, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee, Nirmal Chiraniyan, Vijay Kumar Dogra, Abhishek Bhalerao, Waris Ahmed Zaidi, are the actors in the series. Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi jointly direct the series. Reema Kagti, Ritesh Shah, Mansi Jain, Sunayana Kumari, Karan Shah, and Chaitanya Chopra, all contributed to the writing of the show. The series is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Farhan Akhtar, and Sunitha Ram. Cinematography is done by Tanay Satam.


Sonakshi is playing a cop for the first time and her fans are eager to watch her in this new avatar. Only after the release of the show, can it be ascertained, how well it was liked by the audience. However, IMDb has rated the show 8.3 out of 10 and informs that the series had been nominated for Berlinale Series Award.
