Sony India, earlier today, launched its widely acclaimed HT-Z9F Soundbar in the country. Originally showcased nearly a year ago in the international markets, the HT-Z9F is a premium offering from the company and is positioned below its top-of-the-line soundbar, the ST-5000. The Sony HT-Z9F is the latest product from Sony to feature support for Dolby Atmos. The product also happens to be DTS-X certified. For an enhanced surround sound experience, it also supports Sony’s Vertical Surround Engine as well as S-Force PRO Front Surround technology. The Sony HT-Z9F also happens to support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Along with the Z9F, Sony has also launched the SA-Z9R wireless satellite speakers in the country.
Sony HT-Z9F Details, Features
The Sony HT-Z9F is a versatile product that supports a host of connectivity options, including HDMI, LAN, USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The product also boats of built-in support for Chromecast for music streaming. Supported streaming codecs include SBC, AAC, and LDAC. According to Sunil Nayyar, Managing Director, Sony India, the HT-Z9F, will be a game changer for the home cinema segment. The standard kit of the HT-Z9F includes the soundbar itself and the single wireless sub-woofer that offer an authentic home-theater experience to the consumer. If you decide to go all the way, however, you can spend some more and also add the SA-Z9R wireless speakers to your setup and experience a wider, fuller soundstage.
Sony’s much talked about Vertical Surround Engine also finds its way into the HT-Z9F. This technology claims to create a virtual, ‘vertical’ surround sound effect that mimics the experience of a true blue, 7.1 channel surround system by using just four discrete channels. The Z9F also supports Sony’s DSEE HX technology that upscales your existing music to near high-resolution sound quality.
Sony HT-Z9F Price, Availability
As mentioned earlier, the Sony HT-Z9R is a premium offering from the company and therefore, commands a premium price tag as well. The soundbar + subwoofer combo is the standard offering and will set you back by INR 59,990. In case you wish to add the SA-Z9R wireless speakers to the mix, you will need to increase your budget by another INR 9,990. However, for the India launch, Sony has announced that it will offer the SA-Z9R satellite speakers at no additional cost if the user pre-books the HT-Z9F between July 1 and July 8. Starting July 8, the HT-Z9F is expected to hit the shelves across the country through Sony’s own brand stores, as well as online and offline retailers.
