Sony unveiled its new Xperia lineup at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, in Barcelona. The company overhauled the lineup and launched three new phones – Xperia 1, Xperia 10, and the Xperia 10 Plus. Now, a new report suggests that Sony could be working on another Xperia phone dubbed Xperia 4. Not just the news of the smartphone in works has broken out, but some of the alleged specs have also surfaced. A report from Sumahoinfo reveals all the significant information about Xperia 4. Let’s check out all the details.

Xperia 4 Reportedly In Works, Alleged Specs Hint Snapdragon 710 SoC

The Xperia 4 is reportedly in works, and one of its key specs might include the Snapdragon 710 processor. The phone is rumored to pack a 5.7-inch HD+ with 2520×1080 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 21:9. Given its screen size and aspect ratio, the Xperia 4 seems to be a rather compact device in comparison to the recently launching Xperia 1 and Xperia 10 phones that featured up to 6.5-inch displays.

As we mentioned in the beginning, the Xperia 4 could come powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor. The SD710 chipset is integrated with enhanced AI and performance capabilities. It also boasts multi-core Qualcomm Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine ensuring power-packed and efficient performance. Some of the popular phones that feature the SD710 chipset include the Nokia 8.1, Xiaomi Mi Max 3, and others. The Xperia 4 is going to be a mid-range offering from Sony.

Xperia 4 Rumored Specs, Lack of 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Other rumored specifications for the Xperia 4 suggest 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM. A 2,800mAh battery is rumored to back the phone. For optics, the phone shall most likely feature dual rear camera setup while there is no information concerning the front camera. The phone could also come with IP certification for water and dust resistance.

One of the highlights of the rumors includes the missing 3.5mm headphone jack. This means that Sony might have joined the bandwagon of abandoning the 3.5mm headphone jack for the standalone Type-C connectivity. It is quite a surprise as the recently launched Xperia phones retained the 3.5mm headphone jack. The Xperia 4 is rumored to be a compact device measuring 149.5 x 65 x 9.4mm. It might launch in Silver, Black, Purple, and Red color options.

Although the rumored specs have surfaced in a rather elaborate manner covering the major specs, it is advisable to take it with a pinch of salt. We will soon get to know whether Sony is indeed working on a Snapdragon 710-powered Xperia 4 smartphones. As for the pricing, it will most likely be positioned below the Xperia 10 smartphone.
