Sony PlayStation 5 went on pre-orders earlier today in India. The gaming console was available for pre-orders for the first time after its initial availability in February 2021. Sony PS5 was available for pre-order on the Sony India official store. It was also up for pre-booking on Flipkart and Amazon India. Turns out, the Xbox Series X alternative is out of stock within minutes. The pre-orders for the standard disc variant began at 12 pm today. The listing on Flipkart and Amazon India shows that the console is not available for purchase at the moment.

Sony PS5 went on pre-orders in India earlier today after three months. The console flew off the shelves within minutes post 12 pm.
PlayStation 5 pre-orders went live at 12 pm on Flipkart, Amazon and Sony India’s official website. The standard disc variant priced at Rs 49,990 was available for pre-booking. Within minutes of going live, PS5 was out of stock on Amazon India and Flipkart. Customers also experienced the same when trying to book the Digital Edition, which was only available on Sony Center. The Digital Edition is priced at Rs 39,990.
There was no official word on the stock quantity. It is currently unknown when will Sony restore the PS5 stocks for the third pre-order, if there is any.
Customers who managed to pre-book the PlayStation 5 can expect delivery on or before May 24. The delivery date could get pushed further depending on the lockdown situation. Several states in India have announced lockdown-like restrictions. It only permits the delivery of essential items via e-commerce websites.
