Sony has started accepting pre-orders for the product through Amazon, Sony.com, and BestBuy for the US and Canada markets. Sony has also unveiled the price for the European markets. The product is priced at 259 Euros (approx. Rs 23,490) and is expected to be available from August.

Sony has equipped the earbuds with 8.4mm Dynamic Driver X. The earbuds offer a better bass experience with low disturbances. Sony claims the device will offer exceptional sound quality with advanced noise cancellation, remarkable call clarity, and comfort. The OEM has almost reduced its size and weight by 25% and 20% compared to its predecessor.
The case also gets a size and weight reduction, making it more compact. Sony equips the case with a glossy texture and a compact design. Sony equips the earbud tips with unique noise-isolation functionality. The tips will reduce high-frequency noise in the external environment. The company uses recycled plastics to promote sustainability. The earbud tips will offer a secure fit to the users.
Sony claims that the WF-1000XM5 offers a 20% improvement in ANC compared to Sony WF-1000XM4. The device features closed, dynamic, and multi Noise Sensor technology. Sony has equipped the earbuds with three microphones in each bud. These microphones will capture accurate ambient sounds. Sony has integrated a proprietary V2 processor and HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN2e for better noise cancellation.
The Dynamic Driver X helps to achieve accurate noise cancellation in lower frequencies. Sony also brings an AI-based noise reduction algorithm and bone conduction sensors to improve the call quality. Sony claims the device will offer a battery backup of up to 6 and 7 hours with ANC ON and OFF in calls. The company also adds that it offers 8 and 12 hours with ANC ON and OFF in music playback. The battery life can be extended up to 36 hours with the case.
Sony also brings support for quick charging tech. The company claims that a 3-minute charge will offer playback of 60 minutes. The case also gets support for wireless charging tech. The earbuds get support from the Sony Headphones Connect app and voice assistants. The device also gets IPX4 water resistance, Google Fast Pair, Multipoint Connection, and more.
