Sony WH-XB910N Wireless Headphones with Up to 30 Hours Battery Life, Noise Cancellation Launched in India: Price, Specifications

The Sony WH-XB910N offers dual noise sensors for enhanced noise cancelling, and comes with 30 hours of continuous playback support.

Sony India has announced the launch of the Sony WH-XB910N over the ear wireless headphones. The full-size headphones offer enhanced digital noise cancellation technology, which Sony says uses two noise sensors in tandem to offer a better overall noise cancellation experience. The same can be tweaked or configured to personal preference through Sony’s accompanying Headphones Connect mobile app on either iOS or Android smartphones.

Sony WH-XB910N: Key Features

In terms of specifications, the headphones are powered by 40mm drivers. Via LDAC, the headphones offer frequency response of 20Hz to 40,000Hz, and also comes with a 1.2m audio cable for wired connectivity. You get 48 ohm impedance, and 96dB/nW sensitivity as well.

According to Sony India’s nomenclature, the ‘XB’ moniker denotes a headphone belonging to the company’s Extra Bass lineup. Naturally, the audio signature of these headphones would focus on the low frequencies – even more than the company’s typically warm sound signature. Sony advertises a clear focus on bass with the Sony WH-XB910N – showcasing a ‘club like’ bass driven music experience with these headphones.

In terms of the regular Sony audio enhancements, the Sony WH-XB910N features digital sound enhancement engine (DSEE) – which uses software to upscale the audio that users are streaming through their smartphones. Sony says that this is further combined with Adaptive Sound Control, which is an automatic usage and behavioural pattern learning mode using which the headphones look to automatically select the best audio balance and noise cancellation levels in it.

Sony also offers 360 Reality Audio – a feature that looks to offer spatial audio distribution through the headphones. However, it is important to note that Sony’s spatial audio feature is still not compatible with most mainstream apps, and is therefore of restricted utility. The headphones offer 30 hours of music playback time, and has the company’s ‘Precise Voice Pickup Technology’ to attenuate surrounding noise while on voice calls.

The Sony WH-XB910N wireless over-ear headphones are priced at Rs 14,990 in India, and is available across all online and offline Sony retailers starting today, February 28.
