According to the brand’s latest tweet, Sony Xperia 1 V is all set to launch on May 11. While the company didn’t reveal which phone it is, the tweet mentions, “Next One is coming.” Since the last One series smartphone from the brand was Xperia 1 IV, it’s safe to assume that the upcoming smartphone is the next-generation 1 V. However, apart from teasing that it’s the Next One, Sony didn’t reveal any other information except for one minor detail. Read on to learn what all is known about the Xperia 1 V so far.

Sony Xperia 1 V Launch Date Announced by the Brand

In a tweet from the official Sony Xperia handle, Sony announced that the next-generation Sony Xperia One smartphone is on the way. According to the tweet, the next One is coming on May 11 at 13:00 Japan Time or 09:30 IST.

As of now, it’s still being determined whether the smartphone will make its global debut, but going by Sony’s track record, it might remain exclusive to Sony’s home market at launch. It is what the brand did in 2022 when it launched the Xperia 1 IV in Japan in May before launching it in the US in September. It remains to be seen if the brand will also follow the same strategy this year.

The tweet also mentions that the upcoming flagship device will feature a next-generation camera sensor. However, apart from this, the brand has not revealed any other specifications of the Xperia 1 V.
