As per the source, the company has started rolling out the Android 10 OTA update globally. The update comes with the build number v55.1A.0.748 and it not only brings all the latest Android 10 goodness but also comes with the November security patch.
But…
If in case you have already received the latest OTA update on your Xperia 1/Xperia 5 and are going to install the same, you should be aware that there are some users who are facing certain issues with their devices after downloading the latest update. The issues are (but not limited to) disabled calling and mobile data functionality. Furthermore, if you update your device to the latest Android 10 build, there is no going back as you won’t be able to roll back to the previous update. So, it would be wise to wait for Sony to release an official statement about the update.
That said, if you still want to update your device to the latest version, note that the latest Android 10 update for the Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 smartphones is currently being rolled out to the devices in the US and Europe. As it is a staged rollout, it might take a while to reach out to your device. That, however, should not stop you from downloading it as you can do the same from Sony’s servers using tools like XperiFirm. For that, you will need a Flashtool to install the update on your device.
