Sony is reportedly gearing up to launch a new slew of smartphones this year. The company is also reportedly working to bring the Android competitor to the Apple iPhone 12 Mini. Known as Sony Xperia Compact, the renders and key specifications of the upcoming smartphone has been leaked online. The renders and specifications were posted by known tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer on Voice. The tipster says that the Japanese company is planning to bring back its Compact series of smartphones and Xperia Compact will be the first smartphone.

He also revealed some renders of the upcoming smartphone that gives a detailed view of the design. To start with, the phone looks a bit boxy in nature. The back panel comes with a dual-camera setup aligned vertically at the top-left corner. The front panel offers waterdrop-style notch that houses a single selfie shooter. The right side of the device features volume controls and power on/off button, which doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The company has also added a 3.5mm audio jack at the top panel. The base comes with a USB Type-C port and speaker grille.

The tipster claims that the phone measures 140 x 68.9 x 8.9mm. The Sony Xperia Compact might come with a 5.5-inch display, which is slightly larger than the recently-launched Apple 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini. Moving on, the tipster claims that the handset will come with a dual-camera setup with 13MP primary lens. On the front, there will be an 8MP shooter for selfies and video calling.
