EA and Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set to be featured during The Game Awards on December 8. EA has confirmed that the Awards will feature a gameplay snippet from the upcoming game. Earlier this week, it seems Steam jumped the gun and revealed a likely release date for the game, March 16, 2023.

Looks like EA is eyeing a Spring release window for their upcoming game and given the sort of critical acclaim its predecessor received, Jedi: Survivor could start the year off just right for the publisher and the studio. Respawn Entertainment is working on a number of exciting Star Wars projects at the moment, with the studio having confirmed 2 other projects, a first-person shooter and a strategy game.

Jedi: Survivor is one of the most hotly-anticipated titles of 2023 and fans cannot wait to see what new adventures await Cal and his crew in the sequel. Jedi: Survivor is a follow-up to the excellent Jedi: Fallen Order, which was one of the best games within the Star Wars universe in gaming.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Rumoured to Launch in Spring, Gameplay Reveal Set for 8 December

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was one of the best games to have come out as a result of the EA-Star Wars collaboration and introduced players to a riveting narrative-driven single-player experience that was sorely missing from the franchise. The game doubled down on its promise by incorporating elements in its gameplay inspired by games such as Dark Souls. The game featured a deep combat loop with Metroidvania-style maps that included bonfire-like places for players to save progress.

There is a lot of hope riding on the sequel that it will improve upon the foundations of its predecessor and truly capitalize on what is already a pretty great concept. It will also be interesting to see where Cal’s journey is headed to and how close to the original trilogy the game will come. The game takes place before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope and shortly after Order 66, which saw the Jedi order decimated at the hands of the Empire.

Jedi: Survivor looks like it could include a number of familiar faces for Star Wars fans, including the infamous Grand Inquisitor. The character is one of the most iconic villains from Star Wars: Rebels and has become one of the most terrifying adversaries in the Star Wars universe. It will be interesting to see how the game chooses to match Cal and the Grand Inquisitor and what role, if any, Cal gets to play in the Rebellion. The game is likely to launch on March 16, 2023, and The Game Awards be streamed live on December 9, 6:00 AM (Indian Standard Time).
