This week’s free game on the Epic Games Store is the Metroidvania Puzzle game – “Supraland”. The game will be available to download for free till June 23 on the Epic Games Store and will require no purchase from the player.
The game devs, Supra Games, describe “Supraland” as a mix between Portal, Zelda, and Metroid and the gameplay reflects that description quite well. The game seems to take design cues from all three games mentioned above and mixes in a first-person perspective a la Portal with the Metroid-style level design and exploration of Legend of Zelda.
Supraland is a uniquely singular experience and came out to largely positive reception in 2018. The game, once claimed, will remain in the player’s library forever.
How to Claim Supraland for Free on the Epic Games Store
To claim Supraland for free, simply log in with or create a new Epic Games Account and download the Launcher. Once logged in, look for the Free Games section on the homepage and select “Supraland”. Complete the purchase after clicking “Get” and start the game from the Library once it finishes downloading.Players will not need to complete any purchase or add payment methods to their account as the free games will not cost anything.
The Store has already revealed next week’s free games – A Game of Thrones: The Board Game and Car Mechanic Simulator 2018. These games will be available on the Store from June 23 and they will be available for one week, till 30 June.
The free game giveaway has been a pretty cool way to bring new users to the platform and additionally, it also helps smaller games and developers get more exposure. However, the Store gives away massive AAA titles as well – as the store recently had Prey as a free downloadable title.
