The new iPad mini has a similar form factor featuring an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display. It has uniform bezels on all four sides and the overall design has remained unchanged from the last-gen iPad mini. The presence of the A17 Pro chip marks a huge upgrade as the latest iPad mini is now the most affordable machine with Apple Intelligence.

Compared to the previous iPad mini, the latest version now offers a 30% faster CPU, and 25% better GPU, along with 4x faster ray tracing. This performance boost will offer a superior gaming experience even in AAA titles, and help creative professionals in faster rendering.

The highlight of the latest iPad mini is its support for Apple Intelligence features. It includes support for generative AI writing tools, Image Playground (AI-generated images), Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration in Siri and other iOS elements.

Other Apple Intelligence features include Math Notes in which the iPad mini can now solve equations from handwritten text. It also has a new Calculator app. Audio transcription is also supported, along with a revamped Photos app optimized for the larger iPad screen.

The new iPad mini can now utilize the 16-core Neural Engine to identify documents while using the camera app. It can remove shadows to create a clear digital version of the document being scanned. It comes with a 12MP rear camera, the same as the previous generation.

The iPad mini is now compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro. It supports squeeze gestures which can be used to quickly shift between tools on the iPad, by simply tapping on the pencil. The iPad mini can also be paired with the regular Apple Pencil USB-C.
