Live images of the alleged Tecno Phantom X have surfaced online, hinting at a possible upcoming launch some time within August 2021. Along with its images, key specifications of the purported smartphone have also been revealed, which are more or less in line with what most mid-range smartphones offer in the market right now. The only thing absent from the slew of information posted about the phone is a potential price tag, but given that a possible launch of the phone is still about two months away, such information might be revealed closer to launch.
Tecno Phantom X: expected specs and design
Starting with the design, the Tecno Phantom X appears to sport a smooth, matte glass rear panel that is curved inward at both the edges. The rear panel’s design is in line with what Samsung has used over time. The camera module is an elongated rectangle placed towards the upper half of the rear, and appears to sport three cameras along with a multi-LED flash module and what could either be a ToF depth assistance unit, or a laser autofocus unit.
To the front, the Tecno Phantom X appears to feature a dual-curved edge display, with slim and uniform bezels to both the top and the bottom. There is a fairly chunky cut-out slot in the display that features two front cameras, and the overall design language looks not just fairly premium, but quite closely comparable to Samsung’s Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series flagships.
In terms of teased specifications, Twitter user Abhishek Yadav has claimed to reveal a number of key elements about the phone. These include the MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage a 6.7-inch full HD+ OLED dual-curved display with 90Hz refresh rate, a triple rear camera module with 50MP primary, and 13MP and 8MP additional units, dual front camera module with 48MP primary and 8MP additional unit, 8.7mm thickness, Android 11 with HiOS custom interface, and a 4,700mAh battery with 33W fast charging to power the entire package.
Given that the launch is potentially almost two months away, pricing details may become apparent closer to launch. It is not yet clear if the Tecno Phantom X will be launched in India as well.
