Tecno Spark 5

Chinese smartphone maker Tecno is on the verge of launching a new handset in the country. The company recently posted a teaser page for this new device called the Tecno Spark Power 2 on the e-commerce platform Flipkart. As evident from the naming scheme, it is clear that this upcoming handset is a successor to the ‘original’ Tecno Spark Power that was launched late last year in the country. While the spec-sheet of the handset remains under wraps, for the time being, we can be sure of the fact that this device – like its predecessor – is a battery centric device.

Take a look at some of the images from the teaser on Flipkart below.

It is evident that the Tecno Spark Power 2 is a battery centric handset. We can expect the phone to at least feature a 6,000mAh battery as the case was with its predecessor. It will be interesting to see if Tecno manages to cram in an even larger battery on the Power 2. The teaser claims that the phone and deliver 4 days of battery life on a single charge. It also indicates that the handset supports fast charging technology and that a 15-minute charge is enough to power the phone for more than three hours. Also clear from the poster is the fact that the Tecno Spark Power 2 gets stereo speakers. The handset also appears to feature a quad-camera setup at the rear.

While we do not know the rest of the specifications of the device, we can expect the Spark Power 2 to feature a few upgrades over its predecessor. That handset came powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset and offered 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It remains to be seen if Tecno decides to upgrade this processor and replace it with a faster, more efficient SoC.

As of now, information is that the handset will launch on June 17 and could be priced for INR 999. Anyway, we should have more details on the Tecno Spark Power 2 in the next few days.
