The Game Awards 2022 was a massive event again this year, with plenty of big winners and surprise announcements. FromSoftware’s magnum opus, Elden Ring, came away with the top prize, taking home the coveted Game of the Year Award. The game was exceptionally groundbreaking with regard to exploration and combat and has deservedly received accolades for it all through the year.

God of War Ragnarok also won several categories, including The Game Award for Best Performance, for Christopher Judge’s Kratos. Judge reprised his role from the previous game and added new emotional layers and depth to one of the most iconic characters in gaming and made him even more of an icon with his exceptionally nuanced performance. The game’s composer, Bear McReary also received an award for Best Score and Music.

The Game Awards 2022 was a massive celebration of games this year and was chock-full of memorable moments, including an aptly-confusing trailer for Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2.
