There is no denying the fact that TikTok is one of the most popular apps out there. The app recently hit 1.5 billion downloads collectively on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store which clearly proves its popularity. Now, the developers of the app are reportedly working on taking things further by adding a new niche to TikTok – music streaming. Beijing ByteDance Technology Co Ltd, the company that owns TikTok is reported to be in talks with the leading music labels like Universal Music, Sony Music, and Warner Music for global licensing deals in order to be able to include their titles to its upcoming music subscription service. And, if everything goes as planned, we will be getting the TikTok music streaming app as early as next month i.e December.

TikTok Music Streaming App Could Hit the Stores in December in India

Reported by Financial Times, TikTok might bring its streaming app in the month of December to the customers. Not only India, but the app will also launch Indonesia and Brazil. Post the run in these countries, the next country in line is the United States.

As far as the features of the Tiktok music streaming app are concerned, it will, of course, feature music streaming. That, however, won’t be the end of it as the app will also include a library of short video clips that can be searched, watched, and synchronized to the songs by the users. This could be one of the prime highlights of the upcoming streaming app by TikTok. This further indicates that the company might want to bring about some features from the TikTok app to the upcoming streaming apps. Wouldn’t it be amazing to be able to lip-sync with the music and record videos?

What will be the subscription cost of the TikTok music streaming app

Though the company has not confirmed anything when it comes to the pricing of the music app, the rumor mill has predicted that the same would be priced lesser than most of the existing streaming services (Spotify Technology SA, Apple Inc, etc that charge around USD 10 per month). If the reports are to be believed, we can very well expect the TikTok music subscription to cost less than USD 10.

The tipped price appears lucrative, but if we notice the fact that the other popular streaming apps like Spotify, JioSaavn, Gaana, Hungama, and Apple Music which provide the streaming services for just under USD 2 per month in India, it would be interesting to see how the TikTok music app fares in the country.

As of now, there is little known about the upcoming streaming app by TikTok. As a matter of fact, the company has not even declared the official name of the same, but as the official launch is right around the corner, we can expect more intel on the same in the coming days.
