It is Truecaller’s second app. Guardian is a personal safety app that where users can add their family, friends, and even authorities. It comes with various features that help you contact your family, friends, and emergency authorities. You can share your location with the selected Guardians in case of an emergency by tapping on the “Emergency” button. You can also choose to accept help from “Community Guardians” who will get your location after you tap the emergency button. Truecaller launches new safety app called Guardian for Android and iOS users
Truecaller has launched a new app called Guardian in India and other international markets. The app is available for a free download from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. All features of Truecaller Guardian are free to use and do not feature ads or a premium tier.
How does Guardian work?
The Guardian app is Truecaller’s new safety app. It includes an emergency button that you can tap on to inform your selected Guardians of your location during an emergency. You can add your family, friends, authorities as Guardians. You can also select community guardians who will get your location after you tap the emergency button. It is up to the user whether they want to accept the help from community guardians in their vicinity. Soon, you can also get help from local law enforcement through the app – so that you can get help in the shortest span of time.
You can stop/ start sharing location and setup permanent sharing with selected Guardians. If you are simply sharing your location for a particular trip, Guardians works quietly in the background. The app will run share location intermittently in normal mode while preserving battery life.
How to sign-up for Guardian?
The sign-in process is quite simple for Truecaller users with a single tap. Even if you are not a Truecaller user, you can still use the app. All you need is an One-Time Password (OTP), which you will get upon entering your phone number. You can also verify your mobile number by giving a miss call. Truecaller states that it will not share any personal information with any third party apps for commercial use, including its own Truecaller app.
