Twitter is rolling out a new Highlights tab for its users globally. The new tab has been spotted and tweeted by several users, one of which has been retweeted by Elon Musk himself. The new feature seems to be inspired by Instagram’s stories highlights feature, which lets users showcase significant story updates on top of their profile feed. Twitter users can showcase their significant and top-performing tweets in the dedicated highlights tab on their profile.

Twitter has been testing the new Highlights tab last few months with a select few users initially. After testing the feature over the next few weeks, the microblogging platform has now officially rolled out the feature to all Twitter Blue subscribers. Those who have subscribed to the Twitter Blue service can now add their significant or best tweets in a dedicated tab on their profile.
Users can simply tap on the three-dot icon on top of the desired tweet to pull up the context menu. They should see a new ‘Add/Remove from Highlights’, tap on the option to add the tweet to your Highlights tab. Bear in mind that the Highlights tab will only show up on the profile after adding the first tweet to the highlight.
The Add/Remove from Highlights option will also show up for those who have not signed up for Twitter Blue. However, for non-Blue users, tapping on the option redirects them to the subscription page for Twitter Blue. For the uninitiated, Twitter Blue is priced at Rs 650 per month on the web and Rs 900 per month on the Android or iOS platforms. Twitter also offers annual plans at Rs 6,800 and Rs 9,400 respectively on the web and mobile.
It’s coming

Apart from this, Elon Musk recently also confirmed that Twitter will soon bring a dedicated video app for smart TVs. Elon Musk said ‘It’s coming’, in response to a user who demanded a Twitter video app for TV so that users don’t have to watch an hour-long video on Twitter mobile. This was in response to Elon Musk’s announcement that Twitter will focus on video, creator and commerce partnerships in future.
Notably, Twitter Blue users can already share videos up to two hours in length and 8GB maximum size. Recently, John Wick: Chapter 4 movie was uploaded in its entirety on the micro-blogging platform, which has since been taken down.
