OPPO to Bring 2 New Foldable Smartphones This Year According to Reports

Oppo made its debut in the foldable smartphone segment with the Oppo Fold N back in December 2021. Now, it appears that the next generation of Oppo foldable devices is already in the works. A new tip by Digital Chat Station reveals that Oppo is working on two Foldable devices. Out of these two foldable, one will come with the same form factor as that of last year’s Fold N. Whereas, the other model will have a clamshell design similar to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Moto Razr devices.

Digital Chat Station further reveals that the Oppo clamshell foldable is codenamed Dragonfly but the marketing name of the device is yet to be devices. The device is tipped to come with a 120Hz refresh rate display and the company is focusing on reducing the overall thickness of the device. The company is also adopting a new hinge structure for the upcoming clamshell phone as per the tipster.

Along with its first clamshell phone, Oppo is also working on the successor of last year’s Oppo Fold N. As per the tipster, the successor of the Fold N will be the Oppo Fold N 2. The upcoming foldable device is tipped to offer a 120Hz refresh rate. The tipster also claims that Oppo is working on optimizing the thickness and weight compared to the last year’s Fold N. Digital Chat Station didn’t reveal anything about the upcoming Oppo foldables in the terms of specifications.

Oppo Fold N: Specifications and Features

The Fold N from Oppo offers a 7.1-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 370ppi pixel density, 1000nits peak brightness, and 8.4:9 aspect ratio. The device features a 5.49-inch cover display which comes with a Full HD+, 60Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The Fold N sports a 4500mAh battery unit and 33W SuperVOOC fast charging support. It offers 15W AirVOOC Wireless charging as well as 10W reverse wireless charging. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor.
