- The Note 12 series could get a new member soon.
- Redmi has not confirmed any details about the launch of a new Note.
- The rumoured device could well be the Note 12 Turbo.

Xiaomi has launched multiple smartphones in the Redmi Note 12 series lineup. The company has the Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro 5G, Note 12 Pro Speed Edition, Note 12 Pro+ 5G and the Note 12 Explorer Edition in China. Out of the above, the Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ 5G are available in India. Xiaomi might expand the lineup with the launch of another Note 12 series phone in China. The company is already rumoured to launch a new Note 12 Turbo.
Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about the Note 12 Turbo. Meanwhile, a new report has revealed some key details about an upcoming, unnamed Note 12 series phone. A tipster from China claimed (via) that the upcoming Redmi Note series phone will have an OLED display. This is no surprise as the existing lineup is an all-OLED display one. The lowest-end Note 12 5G also comes with a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display. What the upcoming Note will have (and the existing ones do not) is the inclusion of an in-display fingerprint scanner. The current lineup features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The same tipster revealed that the upcoming Redmi Note series phone will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7-series SoC. Currently, the Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is the only phone in the lineup to feature a Snapdragon 7-series SoC, which is the Snapdragon 778G.
Based on the leaked details, it would not be a surprise if the upcoming phone is the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which is rumoured to launch soon. A recent report revealed that the Note 12 Turbo will launch with an unannounced Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 SoC.
The upcoming Note 12 Turbo is also rumoured to feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. Based on the tipped details, it is likely that the Note 12 Turbo could also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. Since Xiaomi has not confirmed any details at the moment, we would suggest taking the details with a pinch of salt
The Note 12 Turbo is also said to pack a beefy 5500mAh battery. Almost all Note 12 series phones pack a maximum of 5000mAh battery. If the leaked details are true, the Note 12 Turbo could pack the biggest battery ever in the Note 12 lineup. The phone is also said to offer 67W fast charging support. It is likely to launch with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage in China.

Tipster Digital Chat Station previously revealed the camera specs of the phone as well. The Note 12 Turbo is said to feature a triple-camera setup. There will be a 50MP primary camera, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera sensor and a 2MP macro/ depth sensor. The phone will boot Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box. As suggested earlier, we advise taking the leaked details with a pinch of salt. But as always, you can let us know your thoughts about the leaked Note 12 series phone in the comments below.
