Vi Smartphone Program has been launched for Vodafone Idea prepaid subscribers who are using a smartphone. Vi users who upgrade to a 4G or 5G smartphone will be eligible for a recharge discount worth Rs 2,400 as part of the program. The discount can be availed only on recharges done via the official Vi app on the smartphone. The new program is available only in select states and for a limited duration. The new Vi Smartphone Program is intended to push feature phone users to upgrade to smartphones. According to the official website, the Vi Smartphone Program is available for existing Vi users who upgrade to a 4G or 5G smartphone. Notably, Vi has not yet rolled out its 5G connectivity and is in advanced talks with various network vendors to finalize the same. It seems that the talks are in the final stages, hence the push to upgrade to smartphones for its users with the new Smartphone program.
The new Vi smartphone program is available to Vi users who upgrade to a smartphone or non-Vi users on a smartphone on purchase of a Vi SIM. The offer is valid from July 4 to September 30 in Chennai, Rest of Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Haryana. Those eligible for the offer will get a welcome SMS with the Rs 2,400 recharge discount details within a day of inserting the Vi SIM in their smartphone.
To claim the Vi Smartphone Program recharge discount, new and existing users must recharge with Truly Unlimited or Hero recharge packs worth Rs 299 or above. Eligible plans include Rs 319, Rs 359, Rs 368, Rs 369, Rs 399, Rs 409, Rs 475, Rs 479, Rs 499, Rs 539, Rs 599, Rs 601, Rs 666, Rs 699, Rs 719, Rs 839, Rs 901, Rs 902, Rs 903, Rs 1,066, Rs 1,449, Rs 1,999, Rs 2,899, Rs 2,999, and Rs 3,099 recharge packs.
To avail of the discount, users must use a smartphone not on the Vi network in the last 6 months. The recharge should be done on the official Vi app to claim the recharge discount. Once the Vi users recharge with a suitable plan on a new smartphone, they will get a Rs 100 recharge discount coupon, which can be found under the My Coupons section in the app.
A new coupon will be added to this section on every eligible recharge. The coupons will auto-apply on all eligible Hero recharge packs.
