The trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj’s much-awaited Netflix film, ‘Khufiya’, was unveiled on September 18. The movie is all set to release on Netflix on October 5. Ahead of the same, the trailer of the film was unveiled on Monday. From what appears from the trailer, ‘Khufiya’ is a story of love, loyalty, revenge and betrayal. As per reports, the movie is based on true events and is highly inspired by the book “Escape to Nowhere,” written by Amar Bhusan, a former head of R&AW’s counterespionage unit.
This movie is Vishal Bhardwaj’s first collaboration with Netflix and says “The world of espionage has always captivated me; therefore I’m very looking forward to exploring this genre with Khufiya. Additionally, this movie allowed me the opportunity to work for the first time ever with Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi, two incredibly gifted performers, and to reunite with Tabu. In addition, it represents the beginning of my collaboration with Netflix, and I am eager to share this gripping tale with audiences in 190 different countries.”

As for the story, Krishna Mehra (Tabu), is a member of the R&AW spy agency in India. While juggling her twin roles as a spy and a lover, she is tasked with finding the mole selling India’s defence secrets.
The movie is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and stars Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Azmeri Haque Badhon. The movie was produced by Vishal and Rekha Bhardwaj. The music and background score, as usual, is by Vishal Bhardwaj. The screenplay of the movie is written by Rohan Narula and Vishal Bhardwaj while cinematography is done by Farhad Ahmed Dehlvi. Dialogues are written by Vishal Bhardwaj and the movie is edited by A Sreekar Prasad.
