The launch of this new GPU was expected to happen in June as per earlier leaks and rumours. However, as per the latest information available, these new AMD GPUs are delayed again, and now they are set to launch next month. In a recent development, we have some more information regarding these new GPUs coming in courtesy of the popular Weibo leakster Arsenal. The tipster mentions in its Weibo post that the upcoming Exynos chip with AMD GPU might not remain exclusive to just Samsung handsets, but it might be implemented in some Vivo devices as well.
Vivo Plans To Launch Smartphones with AMD Equipped Exynos Chipset
According to Arsenal, Vivo has plans to launch new smartphones with RDNA 2 GPU-equipped Exynos SoC. We already know that Vivo has been making use of Samsung’s Exynos chipset in its few handsets that are launched in China. With this new information courtesy of Weibo leaskter, Vivo also has plans to launch a flagship device with AMD GPUs in China. The upcoming RDNA 2 GPU is said to offer features like ray tracing and variable rate shading to smartphone gaming. Additionally, the RDNA 2 GPU is expected to improve the power efficiency of the phone. With these new features, Vivo might want to give a try to Exynos AMD chipset combo to test the performance on its upcoming handsets in the Chinese market.
If the rumours are to be believed, the next Exynos SoC from Samsung is said to be the Exynos 2200 SoC. This new chipset is said to power up the brand’s flagship Galaxy S22 lineup. The past leak suggests that Samsung’s upcoming Exynos 2200 SoC will offer 30% faster performance than the Mali-G78 GPU which is being currently used with Exynos 2100 in the Galaxy S21.
