Vivo has just launched the NEX 3S 5G smartphone in China. The new device from the brand comes as a successor to the NEX 3 that was launched back in September. However, the NEX 3S 5G doesn’t bring a huge upgrade over its predecessor. The only difference between the NEX 3 and the NEX 3S 5G is that the former has Snapdragon 855+ SoC, whereas, the latter comes with the new, Snapdragon 865 SoC. The rest of the specifications remain the same. A few highlight features of the NEX 3S 5G include a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and HDR10+, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage, a 4500mAh battery with 44W fast charging, a 64MP quad-camera setup at the rear, and a 16MP pop-up camera at the front. Here are the detailed specifications of the smartphone along with its pricing and availability details.
Vivo NEX 3S 5G Price, Availability

The second variant has 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and this one will set you back by the CNY 5,298. The NEX 3S 5G will go on sale in the country on 14th March. The availability of the phone for markets outside China is still unknown.
Vivo NEX 3S 5G Specifications
The standout feature of the NEX 3S 5G is its display; it is free from any kind of notch or a punch-hole. To steer clear of notches and punch-holes, the brand has used a pop-up front-facing camera. As for the display itself, it is a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED unit with Full HD+ resolution and HDR10+. The screen, unfortunately, has a 60Hz refresh rate, instead of a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate that other high-end smartphones are offering nowadays.
Under the hood, the NEX 3S 5G has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. You can get it with two configurations – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. It is worth mentioning that the RAM modules have the LPDDR5 standard, whereas, the storage units are based on UFS 3.1 technology. The NEX 3S 5G runs on Android 10 OS with Funtouch customization. The battery of the smartphone is a 4400mAh unit supporting a jaw-dropping, 44W fast charging.
When it comes to imaging, the NEX 3S 5G has a triple-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, 12MP ultrawide camera with 120-degree FoV and a 13MP telephoto camera. As I have said earlier, the front camera is placed in a pop-up module. It is a 16MP sensor accompanied by an LED flash. The primary camera at the rear can record 4K videos at 60 frames per second, whereas, the front camera can record Full HD videos at 60 frames per second.
