Vivo is working on a successor for the Vivo Pad launched in April 2022 in China. The company is expected to launch the Vivo Pad 2 along with Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip. Previously, the live images of all these devices were leaked with the key specifications. The OEM had confirmed that these upcoming products would be launched in April 2023. The upcoming Pad 2 would be similar to OnePlus Pad and OPPO Pad 2. Vivo is not likely to launch the tablet outside China. Popular tipster, Digital Chat Station on Weibo has shared the storage options and charging speed of the upcoming tablet.
Vivo Pad 2 Known Specifications
The tipster reveals that Vivo Pad 2 will sport a large 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a 2.8K resolution. The display will have support for a refresh rate of 144Hz and a screen ratio of 7:5. The display size, resolution, and refresh rate are an upgrade from the existing Vivo Pad. The live images revealed that thick bezels would surround the display.
The images also revealed that it will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset similar to OnePlus Pad and OPPO Pad 2. The chipset is built on a 4nm process and is an octa-core chipset with an Arm Cortex-X2 clocked at 3.05GHz, three super-cores Arm Cortex-A710 at 2.85GHz, four efficiency cores Arm Cortex-A510 and Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. The tipster reveals that the tablet will be available in two storage options.
The chipset would pair with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. He adds that the device would run on OriginOS 3 based on Android 13 out of the box. The OriginOS would be customized for Pad and will come with support for exclusive features in the OS. The tipster tells us that the company would use an all metal body for the forthcoming Vivo Pad 2.
The company would also launch a couple of accessories with the upcoming tablet. DCS said that it would launch Vivo smart touch keyboard and Vivo Pencil 2. The latter will support magnetic wireless charging and linear motor pressure feedback. He also added that the tablet would bring support for 44W fast charging tech. However, he hasn’t revealed the exact battery capacity of the upcoming tablet.
The Vivo Pad came with an 8040 mAh battery, so the Pad 2 is expected to feature a larger battery pack. The images revealed that it would be equipped with a dual rear camera with an integrated LED flash in the module. The tablet is expected to have a 13MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor.
