It’s been a week since Vivo announced the launch of its new budget handset the Vivo S1. At the time of its launch, Vivo had announced that the phone comes in three versions; a base 6GB+64GB version, a mid-tier 4GB+128GB variant and a top-end 6GB+128GB option. Of the three, both the mid-tier 4GB+128GB and the top-end 6GB+128GB versions are yet to be made available in India. Until today, only the base version of the phone was available via offline stores. Anyway, the reason you’re reading this article is that starting August 14, the base version of the Vivo S1 is available for purchase from several online platforms in the country including Amazon, Flipkart, and Vivo’s own online store. Vivo S1 Price in India, Launch Offers
The base version of the Vivo S1 is the 4GB+128GB variant that has a price tag of INR 17,990. This is the version that is currently on sale via Amazon, Flipkart and Vivo’s own online store amongst others. This variant of the Vivo S1 is available in two color options; Skyline Blue and Diamond Black. As far as launch offers go, if you happen to have an HDFC Bank debit or credit card, you can get a 7.5 percent cash back on the purchase of the Vivo S1. For Jio users, the company offers benefits worth INR 10,000 in the form of extra data. The 4GB+128GB version was already available via offline retailers across India including the likes of Reliance Digital, Poorvika, Big C, Lot, Sangeetha, Croma, and Vijay Sales starting August 8. As for the other two versions, both of them are expected to be announced by next month. The pricing of the mid-tier 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is INR 18,990 while the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage will cost INR 19,990 at launch
Vivo S1 Specifications, Features
The Vivo S1 is a stylish looking handset with a large 6.38-inch FullHD+ AMOLED panel dominating the front fascia. There is a tiny waterdrop style notch at the top where the front-facing camera is housed. The phone also gets an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone finds itself powered by the MediaTek Helio P65 SoC and as mentioned earlier, comes in three versions. The camera setup in the handset includes a triple camera setup at the rear and the single front-facing camera. The primary rear camera uses a 16-megapixel sensor which is mated to an f/1.78 lens. The secondary camera uses an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide f/2.2 lens. Lastly, we have a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 lens. The 16-megapixel front-facing camera gets fixed focus lens with f/2.0 aperture. The primary camera supports several modes that include HDR, Live photo, AI super wide-angle, portrait mode, AI portrait framing, Doc mode, Professional mode, AR Stickers, AI Face Beauty, Video Face Beauty, Time-Lapse, and Slow-Motion.
The handset is dual SIM capable and supports 4G VoLTE networks as well. As far as the software is concerned, the handset runs the latest stable version of Android 9 Pie underneath Vivo’s FunTouch UI. Powering all this hardware is a large 4,500 mAh battery with a microUSB port provided for connectivity.
