Vivo has been quite busy with new smartphone launches this year. The company has announced and eventually launched several new handsets that span across different price segments. 2019 also saw the company launch its new Z-Series and S-Series handsets. The first among Vivo’s S-Series handsets was the Vivo S1, which was officially launched here in India back in August. Just three months later, the company has introduced a Pro version of the Vivo S1 called the Vivo S1 Pro in Indonesia. There is a good chance that the Vivo S1 Pro would eventually make it to India as well. Let us now quickly jump into the spec-sheet and features that the Vivo S1 Pro has on offer.

Vivo S1 Pro: Specifications, key features

As evident from the ‘Pro’ moniker, the S1 Pro is an upgraded version of the standard Vivo S1. Most of the upgrades come in the processor, camera, and storage departments. While the standard S1 came with the MediaTek Helio P65 SoC, the S1 Pro gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC that promises faster performance. While the S1 came in 4GB+128GB, 6GB+64GB, and 6GB+128GB versions, the S1 Pro, at least in Indonesia, would be offered in two versions; one with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage and another with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage.

The battery capacity on the S1 Pro remains unchanged, and it packs in the same 4,500mAh battery we saw on the standard S1 with support for Vivo’s 18W dual engine fast charging. Another thing that remains unchanged on the S1 Pro is the display, which happens to be a Super AMOLED panel that measured 6.38-inches across and boasts of FHD+ resolution and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Moving on to the cameras, the S1 Pro retains the same 32-megapixel front-facing unit we saw on the standard S1. All the camera upgrades are at the rear where we now see a 48-megapixel primary camera (instead of the 16MP unit on the S1). The other two sensors (8MP ultra-wide-angle camera and the 2MP depth sensor) remain unchanged. There is an additional fourth camera at the rear the details of which remain unclear at this time.

Vivo S1 Pro: Launch date, expected price

Vivo Indonesia has not indicated as to when the company intends to launch the S1 Pro there officially. Looking at the promotions, the launch is expected to happen in the next few days. There is also no word on the expected price, although it is certain that this phone would be priced above the standard S1. In India, we can expect the S1 Pro to be priced above the INR 20k mark at launch.
