Vivo has confirmed the launch of the S16 series in China. The company will launch three smartphones in the lineup. These include the S16, S16 Pro and the S16e. Vivo has teased the design of the upcoming S-series smartphones. The company is yet to reveal any details about the specifications and features of the three devices. While we wait for more details on that front, the Vivo S16 series design renders have surfaced online. Tipster Ishan Agarwal, who has a reputation for revealing key details about smartphones and other products well ahead of the launch, has shared the Vivo S16 design renders exclusively with MySmartPrice.
The tipster has revealed the design renders of all three S16 series smartphones. Let’s take a look at the Vivo S16 series design renders, features and other details known so far.
Vivo S16 Series: What the Design Renders Reveal
The Vivo S16 series will launch as a successor to the S15 series in China. The smartphones could debut in other markets with a different name. Vivo has not confirmed any details about the same. Meanwhile, the renders shared by Agarwal reveal that the S16e will be the only phone in the lineup to sport a flat display. The other two phones come with a curved screen.
On the S16e, the screen is flat and is surrounded by fairly thin bezels. The chin too is relatively thin on all three models. There is a hole-punch cutout at the top centre across the three phones.
The S16e also sports a flat frame design. The back is flat compared to the other two models, where the rear panel curves into the frame. We can also see the power and volume buttons on the right edge of the phones.
There is a rectangular camera module on the back. The phones feature a triple-camera setup on the back. The circular LED light is also located inside the camera module.
Agarwal’s design renders of the S16 series also reveal the colour options. The S16e will come in shades of Lavender/ Purple, Cyan Green and Black. The S16 and S16 Pro will come in Green and Black colours. The vanilla S16 also gets a Gold colour option, which has a gradient finish to it.
Agarwal also revealed the specifications of the S16 Pro. The tipster revealed that the phone will draw power from a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. It will launch with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will pack a 4600mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.

There will be a 6.78-inch tall AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support and a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The screen will support a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The device’s triple-camera setup will feature a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. For selfies, there will be a 50MP front camera. The device will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. It will measure 164×74.8×7.4mm and weigh about 183 grams.
Other details of the S16 series will be unveiled at the December 22 launch event in China. We will share these details as and when available.
