Vivo S17 Pro Confirmed to Feature 50MP Front Camera With Dual LED Flashlight

Vivo has revealed the key specifications of the upcoming Vivo S17 Pro smartphone ahead of the launch scheduled on May 31 in China.

Vivo recently launched Vivo S17e silently in the Chinese market ahead of the launch of other Vivo S17 series smartphones. The company confirmed that it would launch Vivo S17 series smartphones on May 31 in China. Apart from Vivo S17e, the series would consist of Vivo S17, Vivo S17 Pro, and Vivo S17t. Recently, we spotted the vanilla Vivo S17 and Vivo S17 Pro smartphones in the GeekBench listing. Previously, the TENAA listing of the smartphone revealed the complete specifications of the smartphone. Ahead of the launch, Vivo has officially revealed the key specifications of the Vivo S17 Pro smartphone. The S17 Pro smartphone is expected to launch in global markets, including India, as Vivo V29 Pro. Recently, Vivo India revealed that the launch of the Vivo V29 Pro smartphone is scheduled for June.

Vivo S17 Pro: Officially Confirmed and Tipped Specifications

Vivo revealed that the Pro variant would feature a large 50MP front camera placed at the centred punch-hole. The sensor will have a class-leading field of view of 90 degrees. It is also equipped with f/2.0 aperture and AI support for various features. Vivo will likely source the front camera sensor from Samsung, which would be the JN1 sensor. The front camera will be assisted by dual LED flashlights placed on the bezels for better photography at night.

The company had revealed that the device would feature a triple-rear camera setup with support for an LED flash. The camera layout will also feature a ring light to enhance the video-shooting capabilities of the device. The teaser also reveals that the telephoto sensor will support 2x optical zoom. Vivo hasn’t revealed any other specifications of the smartphone at the moment. Previously, we had spotted the smartphone in the Google Supported Device list with the model number V2284A, and it confirmed the moniker.

The TENAA listing revealed that the device will sport a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Underneath, it will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G processor, which is built on a 6nm process. The chipset will pair up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage in China. Vivo would limit the international variants with up to 8/12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It would run on Origin OS 3 based on Android 13 out of the box in China.

The triple-rear camera setup will include a primary 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensor with support for OIS. The setup will be paired with a secondary 8MP Sony IMX 355 ultra-wide-angle lens and a tertiary 12MP Sony IMX 663 telephoto lens. The device will have a 164.18 x 74.37 x 7.46mm dimension and weigh around 188 grams.

The Vivo S17 Pro smartphone will be backed by a 4600mAh battery which will support 80W fast charging tech. Vivo will equip the device with an in-display fingerprint scanner and an IR blaster.
