- The S17 Pro might feature a MediaTek Dimensity SoC.
- It will launch with at least 8GB of RAM.

Vivo is rumoured to launch the S17 series soon in China. The company might launch three devices in the lineup. These might be called the S17e, S17 and S17 Pro. At the moment, the exact launch date of the devices is unknown. However, new details suggest that the S17 series might launch soon. The S17 Pro has been spotted on the Geekbench website ahead of its launch. The listing on Geekbench confirms some key performance unit details about the upcoming Vivo S series smartphone.
Based on the leaked details, the S17 Pro will feature a MediaTek Dimensity SoC under the hood. Let’s take a look at the Vivo S17 Pro Geekbench listing, specifications and other details known so far.
Vivo S17 Pro Might Feature the Same SoC Found in V27 5G
Vivo S17 Pro has been listed on the Geekbench website ahead of its launch. The phone might launch globally under the V29 series later this year. The Geekbench listing of the S17 Pro spotted by 91Mobiles revealed that the phone has the model number V2285A. As per the listing, the device features a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. The 4nm SoC is found in the Vivo V27 5G in India. It has two performance cores clocked at 2.8GHz and six efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
The variant of the S17 Pro listed on Geekbench has 8GB of RAM. Vivo might launch the phone with more RAM and storage options. It is also confirmed to run Android 13 out of the box, which is sort of expected from the company. There will be a layer of Origin OS 3 for the Chinese market.
Vivo’s upcoming S series smartphone scored 873 and 2350 in the Geekbench 5 single-core and multi-core tests.
Surprisingly, recent rumours claimed that the S17 Pro will feature a Dimensity 8200 SoC. The SoC is the same as the S16 Pro. However, if the S17 Pro does get a Dimensity 7200 SoC, it will be a clear downgrade over the outgoing model.
Some recent leaks also revealed that the S17 and S17 Pro will feature a curved OLED display made by BOE. The display will have a 1.5K resolution and offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate. We can expect the display to sport a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera.
The S17 Pro will sport a triple-camera setup on the back. There will be a 50MP Sony IMX766V main camera sensor on the back with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will also feature a 12MP Sony IMX663 portrait telephoto camera. We can expect the third sensor to be an 8MP ultra-wide camera, which has been a standard resolution for ultra-wide sensors in the segment. The S17 Pro might get an upgrade over the S16 Pro’s 50MP + 8MP + 2MP sensor setup with the introduction of the 12MP telephoto camera.
In addition to this, the phone is tipped to support 80W fast charging out of the box. It is also likely to launch with up to 16GB of RAM in China.
