We first heard about the Vivo S6 5G earlier this month when China News Network posted about it on Weibo. The brand soon started teasing the device through social media platforms in China. And today, Vivo has put out a post on Weibo announcing that the brand will launch the S6 5G smartphone in China on March 31 at 19:30 CST. The announcement post has a ‘Selfie Phone' hashtag in it, confirming that the front-facing camera will be one of the highlights of the S6 5G.

Vivo S6 5G Expected Specifications

Going by the name of the device, the S6 5G will come as a successor to the Vivo S5 which was launched back in November. Now that the Vivo S5 is a mid-range device, expect the S6 5G to be a mid-ranger as well. The name of the device also reveals that the S6 5G will feature 5G cellular connectivity. So, considering that the S6 5G will be a mid-range device featuring 5G connectivity, our hunch is that it will pack Snapdragon 765G SoC, as it is the only mid-range chipset to have 5G support, at least in Qualcomm's lineup of processors.

The S6 5G was recently spotted on the 3C certification website, which reveals that the S6 5G will come with 18W charging. However, that doesn't make sense when you consider that the predecessor of the S6 5G, the S5, features 22.5W fast charging. Unfortunately, those are the only details of the S6 5G we have at the moment. Hopefully, we will know more once the device nears.
