Last week, we came across the news surrounding the launch of a new Vivo 5G smartphone dubbed the Vivo S6 5G. As per the previous report, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is set to launch the Vivo S6 5G smartphone as early as this month. Though the actual launch date has not been confirmed as of now, the company has finally started making things official and it is doing it by teasing the device on its official social media handles. The latest report comes as a result of a teaser video, which gives us a clue about the various design elements we can expect from the Vivo S6 5G. Vivo S6 5G Promotional Video Out: Design Hinted
The brand posted the video on its official Weibo social media account. The promotional video hints a lot about the Vivo S6 5G. First up, the video confirms that the Vivo S6 will indeed be a 5G-enabled handset. Secondly, we can make out that the promo is trying to give us a hint about an “all-screen” display with minimal bezels. Since we cannot spot a waterdrop/punch-hole arrangement for the selfie snapper, we can speculate (for now) that the Vivo S6 5G could flaunt a pop-up mechanism for the front camera.
Speaking of selfie cameras, Vivo appears to be focusing on the selfie camera of the Vivo S6 5G and it might be one of the prime highlights of the device. The Weibo post reads (roughly translated from Chinese): “The new S6 is here. #5Gselfiephone #S6Vivo”. The hashtag including the keywords ‘5G’ and ‘selfie phone’ clearly indicates that the Vivo S6 5G will focus on providing a good selfie experience to its users (on top of delivering the latest-generation 5G data speeds, of course).

The specifications of the Vivo S6 5G smartphone are still unknown, but we can safely expect it to come shipped with the latest Android 10 OS out of the box. Plus, considering that it is a 5G handset, it will most likely feature at least 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
March is already jam-packed with plenty of 5G smartphones launching in China, notably the OPPO Find X2, OPPO Find X2 Pro, Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro. The Vivo S6 5G, however, is tipped to be more of a budget-oriented 5G device and is said to have a ‘great advantage’ in terms of price. We are not sure as to how much of an advantage the device will have, but we can at least expect it to be priced lower than the existing 5G smartphones in the market.
