Vivo will launch a new smartphone dubbed the Vivo U20 in India on November 22. The landing page for the device is already live on the Amazon India website which gives us plenty of intel as to what all we are going to get with the Vivo U20. If we pay close attention to the specifications mentioned on the product page, it’s not too difficult to tell that the Vivo U20 is nothing but the rebranded variant of the Vivo U3 smartphone which was launched last month in China. The Vivo U20 will succeed the previously launched Vivo U10 which, by the way, was launched in China under the name Vivo U3x.
Vivo U20: Specifications and Features
Under the hood, the Vivo U20 will be powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon675 AIE chipset which will be coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage(UFS 2.1). The device will come with features like Multi-Turbo, Game Space, and the company’s in-house virtual assistant dubbed Zovi. The Vivo U20 recently appeared on the AnTuTu benchmark website. Here’s the score that the device has been able to achieve there:
Other than the processor and the RAM, the rest of the specifications of the Vivo U20 are not yet revealed on the product page, but as the device is the rebranded Vivo U3 only, we have a working clue as to what the specifications of the device are going to be (unless, of course, the company wants to change some of the specifications for the Indian unit).
The display of the Vivo U20 will be a 6.53-inch FHD+ unit with a waterdrop notch at the top. There is a slight chin at the bottom of the device, but it’s not too obtrusive.
At the back, the Vivo U20 sports a triple rear camera setup which could very well be a 16MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro lens combination. The front camera is going to be a 16MP unit. We will get a standard rear-mounted fingerprint scanner with the Vivo U20.
As far as the OS is concerned, the Vivo U20 will run on Android 9 Pie out of the box with the company’s proprietary FunTouch OS 9 skin on top of it.
Coming to the battery of the device, the Vivo U20 will feature a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.
Moving on to the color variants, the Vivo U20 is confirmed to come at least in a Blue color variant which is being showcased on the Amazon product page. That said, we can expect the device to launch in up to three color variants – Black, Blue, and Porcelain Green as the Vivo U3 has also been launched in these three variants in China.
The price of the device has not been revealed yet, but since the Vivo U3 was launched for Yuan 1199 for the 6GB variant, we can expect the Vivo U20 to be priced more or less at the same price.
As of now, this is all we know about the Vivo U20, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
