Vivo U20 with 5000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 675 SoC Launched in India: Price, Features

Vivo has finally launched the Vivo U20 smartphone in India. The device is essentially a rebranded Vivo U3 which was launched a little while ago in China. We get a 5,000mAh battery and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset with the device.

The Vivo U20 is launched in two memory configurations in India – one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and one with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The former is kept at an asking price of INR 10,990 which roughly translates to around USD 155 while the latter would fetch another INR 1,000 from your wallet, making the price to be INR 11,990 (around USD 170). The device will go on its first sale on November 28 and in case you want to buy it, you can do the same from Amazon.in and Vivo’s official India site.

Vivo U20 specifications and features

Starting things off with the display of the device, the Vivo U20 sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The display of the Vivo U20 gives out a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The device has a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3%. The device weighs in at 193 grams and measures 6.39 x 3.01 x 0.35 in.

The device comes in two color variants – Racing Black and Blaze Blue.

For photography, we get a triple rear camera setup at the back (16MP primary sensor (Sony IMX499) + 8MP super-wide (120 degrees FOV) + 2MP macro lens). The rear camera setup is vertically aligned with an LED flash sitting right underneath the cameras. At the front, we get a 16MP selfie shooter which comes with features like AI Face Beauty and Group Selfie.

We get a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner with the Vivo U20. This, however, is not the only way to unlock the device as the same could be done by using the facial unlock mechanism as well.

As mentioned earlier, the Vivo U20 is powered with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset which is coupled with 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage (UFS 2.1). If that much of storage is not enough for you, there is scope for storage expansion up to 256GB with the help of an external SD card.

On the software front, the Vivo U20 comes with Android 9 Pie out of the box with the company’s in-house Funtouch OS 9.2 on top of it.

Moving on to the battery of the device, the Vivo U20 packs in a big 5,000mAh battery which has support for up to 18W Dual-Engine Fast Charging.

Furthermore, the Vivo U20 comes with Widevine L1 certification which means that you can stream content from Amazon Prime Video and Netflix videos in HD.
