The Vivo V11 Pro has finally got treated to Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 in India. The smartphone that recently got a price cut in India, coming down to INR 23,990, has received a major update. Plenty of V11 Pro users took to Twitter to share their happiness over getting the new update that brings upgraded UI design and Shortcut center that allows users to multitask without many steps.

According to the screenshots shared on Twitter by the V11 Pro users in India, the update also brings a new gesture-based navigation features alongside other wellness features including Dashboard. The Dashboard feature analyses how much time a user spends on each app. The data collected acts as a reference for the user to get a clear picture of time spent using apps and how to ration it.

The latest FunTouch OS 9 update also brings Do Not Disturb (DND) mode, enhanced icons for navigation, Wind Down mode, Upgraded gesture controls, improved notifications, and Quick Settings, a new power menu, and more. Moreover, the update also includes an improved Dark Mode that resembles the Dark Mode that we have seen on Samsung’s One UI. Additionally, the update also has a new option in the settings menu, dubbed Game Box that allows users to tweak sound output suiting the game.

To jog down the memory, the Vivo V11 Pro comes with a 6.41-inch Full HD+ Halo FullView display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset. The phone has 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A 3400mAh battery with dual-engine fast charging backs the phone. It has a 12MP+5MP dual camera setup on the rear and a 25MP selfie camera with AI features.

Vivo Shares FunTouch OS 9 Roadmap For 13 Smartphones

In another news, Vivo recently shared the timeline for Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS 9 update for up to 13 smartphones. The OEM has announced that all the 13 phones will get the update by July 2019. The company also revealed that these phones would first get the beta updates followed by stable updates soon. Currently, Vivo is testing four phones for the update including the Vivo X21i, Vivo Z1, Vivo Z1i, Vivo X23, and Vivo X23 Symphony Edition. In the second batch for testing, Vivo will include the Vivo X21, Vivo X21 UD, Vivo X21s, Vivo NEX A, Vivo NEX S, Vivo NEX Dual Display Edition and the Vivo Z3i for the FunTouch OS 9 beta update.

For now, the timeline for the update includes the phones available in the China market. It could mean that the update for global models may arrive later than July 2019. Either way, Vivo has made its update plan quite clear. Won’t be long before all the thirteen phones get the update, even the global variants.
