Mid-range smartphones are all the rage in India today, on September 17 and there are multiple brands that are claiming their share in the fast-growing market here. Among the best options you can find out there are three devices that come with a waterdrop notch, and look quite similar, thanks to their tall displays and nearly bezel-free designs. In this post, we are comparing the Vivo V11 (V11i in some markets), the Vivo X23, and Oppo A7X, so that you can make an informed decision when going for the ultimate mid-ranger.
Vivo V11 vs Vivo X23 vs Oppo A7X: Design and Display
All three of these smartphones are brand new, and hence, come with the attractive waterdrop notch, which gives them excellent screen space. The Vivo V11 gets 19:9 aspect ratio, and the other two get a better 19.5:9. Both Vivo handsets here come with a Super AMOLED display while the Oppo A7X gets an LTPS IPS LCD unit. If you compare the size, the Vivo V11 and Oppo A7X get the same 6.3-inch size display, while the Vivo X23 gets a taller 6.41-inch size display. The Vivo X23 also gets better screen-to-body ratio than the other two, and is about 0.5mm thinner than them. As you can see, the Vivo X23 is clearly a winner when it comes to design and display.
Vivo V11 vs Vivo X23 vs Oppo A7X: Processor
The smartphones being compared here are all fast in their own right, but only one of them, the Vivo X23, gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. The Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz in the Vivo X23 is likely to make it perform perceptibly faster than the other two handsets, both of which are powered by the same Mediatek Helio P60 chipset. Although, the Helio P60 is also octa-core and clocked at 2.0GHz, Snapdragon processor are usually faster and more reliable than Helio chipsets. The two Vivo phones booth Funtouch OS 4.5 while the Oppo A7X runs ColorOS 5.2, with both skins being based on Android 8.1 Oreo. And so, in this round too, the Vivo X23 is the best phone standing.
Vivo V11 vs Vivo X23 vs Oppo A7X: Specifications
As far as other specifications go, the Vivo X23 either out-does the other two or matches them head-to-head. All three handsets get dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0 Low energy, microUSB 2.0 (no Type-C), and 3.5mm audio jack. The Vivo X23 is the only handset with an under-display fingerprint sensor and a large secondary camera sensor. The other two get a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and 16MP primary sensors, with the Vivo V11 carrying a 5MP depth sensor and the Oppo A7X getting a 2MP depth sensor.
The Vivo X23 has a smaller 12MP primary sensor but it is aided by a 13MP secondary sensor for low-light photography. Also, the Vivo X23 is the only handset here that can record HD videos in 2160p quality at 30fps, the other two recording in 1080p at 30fps. When it comes to the selfie shooter, however, the Vivo V11 stands tall with a 25MP snapper, followed by the Oppo A7X with a 16MP front camera, and the Vivo X23 gets the smallest 12MP front shooter. All three front cameras come with HDR mode and HD video recording with 1080p at 30fps though.
Battery wise, the Oppo A7X gets the largest 3500mAh unit, but with 10W fast charging. The Vivo X23 instead gets a 3400mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging. The Vivo V11 here gets a 3315mAh battery with regular charging, with the dual-engine fast charging technology being reserved for its Pro version.
Overall, we can say, the Vivo X23 is the better phone out of the three, but selfie lovers have a stronger pull in the 25MP front camera of the Vivo V11.
