Vivo V15 with Helio P70 to Launch in India on February 25, Could be Priced Under Rs.25,000: Report

Vivo recently launched the Vivo V15 Pro smartphone in India. Now, the OEM is gearing up to launch the Vivo V15 in India. According to a report by 91Mobiles, Vivo is planning to unveil the V15 smartphone on February 25, 2019, in India. It is going to be a toned-down version of the V15 Pro. Although it will miss out on some high-end specs as seen on the V15 Pro, the V15 will retain major elements such as the pop-up selfie camera and an all-display design.

Vivo V15 Pro

According to the report, the Vivo V15 will feature a 6.39-inch LCD screen in place of AMOLED panel as on the V15 Pro. Design-wise, the photos reveal the same gradient design on the back like the recently launched Vivo phones including the V15 Pro. The Blue gradient design on the V15 gives it a premium touch just like the V15 Pro.

It will pack a 32MP selfie camera just like the V15 Pro, but in the triple rear camera setup, the V15 will miss out on the 48MP sensor and settle for a 24MP primary sensor. Similar to the V15 Pro, the 24MP primary sensor on the V15 also uses the pixel binning technology. The V15 has a 24MP+8MP+5MP triple camera setup on the rear, wherein the 8MP secondary sensor is a wide-angle shooter, and the 5MP sensor is for depth sensing. The triple rear cameras will also support AI-assisted features such as AI Body Shaping and AI Portrait Lighting. As we mentioned in the beginning, the V15 retains the pop-up selfie camera design from the V15 Pro. The pop-up camera module slides up whenever the front camera is chosen in the camera app or when the Face Unlock feature is used.

Under the hood, the V15 will come powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 processor clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. As of now, other details such as the software and battery capacity remain unknown. However, going by the specs of the V15 Pro, the V15 should also ship with Android 9 Pie-based FunTouch OS. As for the battery, it may come backed by a 3,700mAh battery with support for fast-charging. Connectivity options supported by the Vivo V15 should include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB port.

Vivo V15 Expected Price in India

Being a toned-down version of the V15 Pro, it is obvious that the V15 will be priced much lower than the V15 Pro. We must not forget that it lacks some of the premium features such as the ‘fifth-generation’ in-display fingerprint sensor. The report states that the Vivo V15 price in India will be positioned between 22K to 25K.

We will get to know all the final details once Vivo takes the veil off the V15 on February 25, 2019. Stay tuned with us to get all the updates. In the meantime, you can share your thoughts on the design and rumored specs of the V15, in the comments below.
