Now, courtesy of 91Mobiles, we have got the specifications and live shots of the Vivo V17.
Vivo V17 specifications and images leaked ahead of launch
As per the source, the image of the device has been sent out by a Vivo official who does not want their name to be revealed. As seen in the image, the Vivo V17 will feature an almost bezel-less display with a punch-hole camera sitting on the top right corner of the display. The company has dubbed the display of the device as “iView display”. Speaking of it, the Vivo V17 will feature a 6.44-inch full-HD+ OLED unit, giving out a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and a pixel density of 404 pixels per inch. The screen to body ratio will be 91.38 percent. The Vivo V17 will launch in two color variants in India – Glacier Ice and Midnight Ocean.
The volume buttons and the power button sit on the right side of the device whereas the SIM card tray would most likely be on the left side.
Powering the device will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset which will be coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The storage will have scope for further expansion with the help of an external SD card.
A 4,500mAh battery will keep the Vivo V17 running. The battery will have support for up to 18W fast charging over a USB Type-C charging port.
Speaking of cameras, the Vivo V17 will sport a quad-camera setup at the back (48MP, f/1.8 primary sensor + 8MP, f/2.2 + 2MP + 2MP) which will be arranged in an L-shaped pattern.. At the front, we will be getting a 32MP selfie shooter.
As far as biometrics are concerned, the Vivo V17 will feature an under-display fingerprint scanner. That, however, would not be the only way to unlock the device and one would be able to do the same with the help of its facial unlock mechanism.
Coming to the OS, the Vivo V17 will run on Android 9 Pie out of the box with Vivo’s proprietary FunTouchOS on top of it. Speaking of FunTouchOS, this scenario might soon change as the company is reportedly going to introduce an all-new custom skin dubbed Jovi OS alongside the upcoming Vivo X30 series of smartphones.
