Vivo has unveiled its new mid-range smartphone called the Vivo V19 in India a few days back after initially canceling the launch in March-end due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Launched at a price of Rs 27,990, the V19 sits on the same pedestal as the OPPO Reno 3 Pro and also the Realme X2 Pro. Let’s have a look at how good the Vivo V19 is compared to its competition based on all their spec sheets.
Table of Contents
Vivo V19 vs OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Realme X2 Pro: Price
The Vivo V19 has two storage and RAM configurations, which are 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB which cost Rs 27,990 and Rs 31,990 respectively. In comparison, the Reno 3 Pro happens to be selling at Rs 27,240 on Flipkart for the single 8GB + 128GB variant. The Realme X2 Pro, on the other hand, starts at Rs 29,999 for the 6GB + 64GB version and goes up all the way to Rs 35,999 for the 12GB + 256GB version.
Looking at the price we can say that the V19 and Reno 3 Pro are priced around the same while the Realme X2 Pro is a shade higher. However, we must also consider here that the X2 Pro offers flagship-grade performance while the V19 and Reno 3 Pro are mid-range performers at best.
Vivo V19 vs OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Realme X2 Pro: Display features
The Vivo V19 has a Dual iView display which is basically a fancy word for a dual punch-hole on the front. This aspect is shared by the Reno 3 Pro but the X2 Pro happens to have a dated waterdrop notch. In terms of screen size, the V19 has a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display as compared to the 6.5-inch display and 6.4-inch on the X2 Pro and Reno 3 Pro respectively. However, the Realme X2 Pro has a higher 90Hz refresh rate display while both the others have a normal 60Hz screen.
It is clear that all displays are AMOLED in nature and have more-or-less the same screen size. The difference lies in the perceived smoothness thanks to the X2 Pro’s higher refresh rate screen and therefore it wins in this category.
Vivo V19 vs OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Realme X2 Pro: Camera
In terms of optics the Vivo V19, Realme X2 Pro, and Reno 3 Pro, all come with a quad-camera setup. While both X2 Pro and Reno 3 Pro have a 64MP primary sensor, the V19 has a 48MP sensor. However, the Reno 3 Pro alone has the ability to click 108MP shots through interpolation technology. Supporting the Reno 3 Pro are 13MP telephoto camera, 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP mono lens. Realme X2 Pro also has a camera system along the same lines with a 13MP telephoto lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. The V19, on the other hand, has no telephoto or mono lens but comes with an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro sensor. The front of the Reno 3 Pro is flanked by a 44MP selfie shooter and a 2MP depth sensor while the V19 has a 32MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide sensor. Realme’s device has a single 16MP sensor.
Just based on the versatility of sensors and the sheer megapixel count on the Reno 3 Pro, both on the front and back, it can be said that, at least on sheet, the Reno 3 Pro takes the cake here.
Vivo V19 vs OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Realme X2 Pro: Performance and software
The Vivo V19 is powered by the mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chipset while the Reno 3 Pro has MediaTek’s Helio P95 SoC. The Realme X2 Pro, however, is powered by last year’s flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, making it easily the fastest phone amongst the three. In terms of software, all phones are running on Android 10.0-based skins with the Realme X2 Pro and Reno 3 Pro having a near-identical software experience while Vivo’s FunTouch UI is still quite inspired from iOS.
Here we have to give the winner tag to the Realme X2 Pro on account of its capable performance and good software experience.
Vivo V19 vs OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Realme X2 Pro: Battery and charging
As far as battery goes, the Vivo V19 has a 4,500mAh battery, which has provision for up to 33W Vivo FlashCharge 2.0. The Reno 3 Pro has a 4025mAh battery with a 30W charging support while the Realme X2 Pro has an insane 50W charging solution for its 4,000mAh battery.
While the V19 has the biggest battery of the lot, it has a charging speed that is nearly half of that of Realme. Here the Realme X2 Pro is a winner.
Vivo V19 vs OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Realme X2 Pro: Final verdict
It would appear that even though the Vivo V19 is the most recent phone amongst all three, it does not win in any category. The Realme X2 Pro being last year’s budget flagship still outperforms both the other phones in almost all categories except cameras.
