Vivo V2102A With New Adreno 730 GPU Spotted on Geekbench; Could it be Using the Upcoming SD898?

Vivo is gearing up for the launch of the X70 series in China. The company will unveil its flagship phones first in China on September 9, followed by a global launch the next day. The X70 Pro Plus is rumoured to get the latest Snapdragon 888 Plus SoC under the hood. While we wait for the official launch, it looks like Vivo is already working on a phone with the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile flagship processor. Vivo is working on a device with the model number V2102A. The phone listed on Geekbench features the upcoming Snapdragon 898 SoC. The phone listed on Geekbench comes with 8GB of RAM. It has the Adreno 730 GPU as well. More importantly, it is likely to have the upcoming Snapdragon 898 SoC under the hood. The 4nm octa-core SoC has a peak clock speed of 2.42GHz. Recently, Digital Chat Station had revealed that the Snapdragon 898 chip has 1*2.42GHz + 3*2.17GHz + 1.79GHz clock speeds for various cores. 

It scores 720 and 1919 in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests. Lastly, the phone runs Android 12 out of the box. 

Other details of the phone remain unknown at the moment. Details of the SD898 SoC were tipped recently. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 will feature a four cluster core layout, configured in a 1+3+2+2 structure.

The SoC would feature four efficiency cores, with two configured with a high frequency clock and two with lower frequencies. The three cores in the middle of the structure would be the main performance cores, which would be further supported by the one, peak performance core.
