Vivo just launched its latest V series smartphone Vivo V27 Pro in India. It builds on the success of the previous Vivo V-series smartphones and aims to stand out from the rest of the smartphones in the segment by offering some unique features.
The phone starts at Rs. 37,999 and will be available for pre-booking from Flipkart, Vivo e-store and various retailers from March 1, 3 PM.

5 Things We Love About the Vivo V27 Pro
Colour-Changing Glass Design
Vivo V27 Pro comes with a colour-changing back design. It is made of the same fluoride AG colour-changing material we saw with the previous V series smartphones.
The phone’s back panel interacts with the light which falls on it. The back panel goes from a light shade of blue to a darker shade as time passes.
Using various stuff such as leaves and paper cuttings, you can make fun little images on the back of the phone.
120Hz Curved Display
Vivo V27 Pro comes with a curved display, the design style of choice for the Vivo V series of smartphones. It is a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is a 3D curved display with a curvature of 60°, making it a pleasure to use. The display comes with HDR10+ certification.
The display is aided by the sleek design of the device, which comes in at 7.36mm thickness and weighs only 182g.
Wedding Photography
Vivo V27 Pro features a wedding photography filter, which lets you capture Indian wedding-inspired portraits.
It creates images with a mix of warm, pastel shades and a blend of soft contrast gold and pink tones, making use of the colour palette of Indian weddings.
AURA Light
One of the major talking points of the Vivo V27 Pro is the AURA Light on the back of the device. Vivo V27 Pro comes with a flash that looks like a ring light on the back. It sits alongside the triple cameras on the back of the device, giving it a distinctive look from the back.
The AURA Light on the back of the device lets the device have night portraits, as the flash, in conjunction with the portrait mode, enables the device to capture great portraits even at night.
Vivo says this about the AURA Light, “See the difference Vivo’s Aura Light makes by adding studio-like lighting to dark ambient settings. Night portraits are more vivid, and faces appear more delicate and natural.”
You can activate the Wedding Portrait mode from the camera app, and it is available as a filter in the camera app. It is listed under Portrait mode, under the styles option. You'll get three wedding portrait styles even.
Dimensity 8200 SoC
Vivo V27 Pro is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. It is the same chipset we saw in the recently launched iQOO Neo 7, making it the second smartphone to come with the flagship-grade MediaTek chipset. It is a very capable chipset that goes up against the Snapdragon 888 SoC from the Snapdragon side. It is one of the best-performing phones in the segment, barring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones.
The Dimensity 8200 SoC is paired with 8GB and 12GB RAM and 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.
One Thing We Didn’t Liked About Vivo V27 Pro
Software
It's not all sunshine and roses in the Vivo V27 Pro. The one thing we would like to improve on the Vivo V27 Pro is the software. The phone comes with Vivo's custom skin, Funtouch OS 13, based on Android 13.
Funtouch OS isn't a bad custom skin. Still, it needs to be improved compared to its counterparts, such as Oppo's ColorOS, Samsung's OneUI, OnePlus's OxygenOS, Realme's RealmeUI, and Nothing's Nothing OS.
The custom skin is riddled with lots of bloatware, which you can uninstall, but it shouldn't have been present on the phone costing this much. Also, the Vivo app store sends lots of notifications to the user, which can get irritating super fast. It does come with every feature you want in a smartphone, such as an app lock, fingerprint animation customisation, screen recording, and more. We would also like to see Vivo improve the stability of the software.
