Vivo is gearing up to launch the Vivo S17 series smartphones in China on May 31. The series includes Vivo S17, Vivo S17t, and Vivo S17 Pro. The Vivo S17 Pro was initially tipped to launch as Vivo V29 Pro in international markets, including India. Reports suggest the company would launch a slightly tweaked version in the international markets. Vivo India has revealed that the company will launch the smartphone in June. Ahead of the developments, Vivo Philippines officially listed the smartphone on its website. The listing reveals the key specifications of the forthcoming V29 Pro device. The upcoming device would be the successor to the Vivo V27 Pro smartphone launched in March 2023.
Vivo V29 Pro Key Specifications Revealed
Vivo has shared a teaser image of the upcoming smartphone on their Philippines website. The image reveals the power button placement and volume rockers on the right side. Vivo’s logo can be seen on the bottom left corner of the smartphone. The rear camera layout is similar to the existing Vivo V27 Pro smartphone. The ring light can be seen on the top right part of the camera cut-out.
Vivo reveals the device will sport a 6.7 inches curved OLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution. The panel will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and will offer a better visual experience. In terms of optics, it will be equipped with a triple rear camera setup with a primary 64MP sensor. The primary camera is tipped to feature Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support. The device will use a large 50MP selfie camera which will be placed inside the punch-hole. It will be backed by a large 5000 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging tech.
The chipset will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Vivo hasn’t revealed any other specifications of the upcoming Vivo V29 Pro smartphone. There are reports on the web that suggest that the device will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset. Vivo will also offer a colour-changing back panel similar to other Vivo smartphones. The OLED display will also house an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric purposes. The device is expected to run on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box.
Vivo V27 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The device is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The V27 Pro has a triple-rear camera setup with a primary 50MP Sony IMX 766 sensor with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. The centred punch-hole in the display houses the 50MP selfie camera. The device was backed by a 4600 mAh battery with 66W fast charging support.
