Vivo has officially announced the Vivo S7 successors – the Vivo S9 5G and the Vivo S9e 5G. These new devices offer an identical design that of the S7, except for new hardware. The Vivo S9 5G incorporates a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset, while the S9e 5G is powered by Dimensity 820 SoC. The Vivo S9 features a wide-notch design that holds two selfie cameras, while the Vivo S9e comes with a waterdrop notch display. Vivo S9 5G, S9e 5G Price, and Availability
The Vivo S9 5G comes in Midnight Blue, Gradient Blue, and White colour options. The base Vivo S9 model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at around 2999 Yuan (USD 463 / Rs 33,771), while the higher-end variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage costs 3299 Yuan (USD 510 / Rs 37,149). The device is already available for pre-order and will go on sale in China starting from March 12th.
The Vivo S9e with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage retails for around 2399 Yuan (USD 371 / Rs. 27,003), while the 8GB RAM variant with 256GB storage costs 2699 Yuan (USD 417 / Rs. 30,337). The S9e 5G comes in Diamond Crystal, Aurora Blue and Obsidian Black colour options. The handset will be available to pre-order from March 27th, and it will go on sale in China starting from March 27th. No details regarding the global availability of the Vivo S9 5G and the S9e 5G is known as of now.
Vivo S9 5G Specifications, Features
The Vivo S9 5G features a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 1300 nits brightness. The screen even has a TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort Certification and supports HDR10+ content. Powering the S9 5G is MediaTek’s 6nm Dimensity 1100 processor that is aided with Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. The device packs 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s also a higher-end model, which comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. The S9 5G runs Android 11 out of the box with Vivo’s new OriginOS 1.0.
In terms of imaging, the S9 5G sports a triple-camera setup that consists of a 64MP primary main camera with a f/1.7 aperture. The secondary camera the device includes is a 8MP ultra-wide lens, followed by a 2MP macro camera that has a f/2.4 aperture. At the front, the device houses a two selfie camera that consists of a 44MP lens and a 8MP ultrawide camera. Connectivity-wise the smartphone offers Dual 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 b/g/n ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The whole package is fueled by a 4000mAh battery that has 33W fast charging support.
Vivo S9e 5G Specifications, Features
The Vivo S9e features the same specifications as that of the S9 5G, except it packs different hardware, and has a single camera at the front. The S9e 5G sports a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. Underneath, the device packs a Dimensity 820 SoC, and is available in two memory-storage configurations – 8GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB. On the software front, the S9e 5G runs Android 11 out of the box.
Similar to the S9 5G, the S9e 5G even has the same camera configuration at the back that includes a 64MP main primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. Vivo has swapped two cameras for a single lens at the front, which houses a 32MP camera. The device ships with the same connectivity options as that of S9 5G, and even packs the same 4000mAh battery that has 33W fast-charging support.
