Vivo seems to be planning to bring a new smartwatch, which would be the successor of the Vivo Watch. The new smartwatch, being called the Vivo Watch 2 as of now, was discovered on TENAA. A tipster has tweeted about it, and he mentioned a few things like an OLED panel, a 501mAh battery and e-SIM support that we may see on the new smartwatch from Vivo. Earlier as well, a popular Chinese tipster hinted towards e-SIM support on the upcoming smartwatch. The OG Vivo Watch came in two size options- 42mm and 46mm. However, this time we’re not sure yet in what sizes the Vivo Watch 2 would come.

The smartwatch seems to have a typical watch design with a black round metal frame and rubber straps. However, it is expected to retain some of its ancestor’s features, like 11 sports modes, heart rate and blood oxygen level measurement and connectivity options including NFC, GPS, built-in storage, and an IP rating. Though, it would be interesting to see how the battery life on the Vivo Watch 2 turns out as it doesn’t pack a considerably larger battery and the presence of eSIM means that it would draw a lot of power.

The original Vivo Watch had a 1.19-inch and 1.39-inch AMOLED display for its 42mm and 46mm models, respectively, and with the new smartwatch, the company is opting for OLED instead of AMOLED.

However, it is a step forward because not many smartwatches come with e-SIM support and hence the users need to rely on a smartphone. With e-SIM support, those who use the smartwatch would not just be able to make phone calls directly using the watch they wear but will also be able to find out information quickly using the watch itself, without relying on a smartphone for the internet connectivity.

There is still some confusion regarding the battery capacity. While some sources claim it has a 501mAh battery, other sources have argued that the Vivo Watch 2 will pack a 515mAh battery. Also, there are some speculations regarding the launch date as some sources suggest that the Vivo Watch 2 will launch in November, while others say they aren’t aware of it yet.
