Vivo X Flip Live Image Leaked During Photo Shoot: Reveals Rear Design in Full Glory

Vivo is gearing up for a launch event in April 2023 to unveil new foldable smartphones, tablets, and more in China. The company would unveil Vivo X Fold 2, its first clamshell smartphone Vivo X Flip and Vivo Pad 2. The live images of the Vivo Pad 2 and Vivo X Fold 2 were leaked recently, revealing the smartphone’s specifications. Even though Vivo confirmed that the products would be launching in April, the company is yet to announce the launch date of the smartphones in China. Ahead of the launch, popular tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed the live image of the forthcoming clamshell X Flip smartphone.

Vivo X Flip Known Specifications

The company is gearing up to take on clamshell smartphones from Samsung and OPPO. The live image reveals the smartphone’s design, similar to the leaked renders. The device’s image was leaked during a photo shoot with popular Chinese actress Wang Ziwen. The leaked image confirms that the device would be available in a purple colour variant similar to Galaxy Z Flip 4.


The image also reveals that the device will feature a circular camera module similar to the rest of the X series. The camera module will be placed on the top left corner of the device in the unfolded stage. The cover display is placed on top of the camera module when folded. It might be uncomfortable for users to reach the screen with a single hand. In comparison, the OPPO Find N2 Flip’s cover screen is placed beside the camera module for better access.

Vivo X Flip smartphone was recently spotted on Google Play Certification with the model number V2256A. The 3C listing of the smartphone revealed that it will support 44W fast charging tech. Previously, the smartphone was listed in GeekBench, revealing the chipset details of the device. The listing revealed that Vivo will equip the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with the X Flip smartphone. 

The chipset would pair with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The smartphone would boot FuntouchOS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. In China, the smartphone may boot OriginOS 3 based on Android 13. The specifications of the device were tipped previously by various tipsters. The smartphone will sport a 6.8-inch OLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. 

The display will support a 120Hz refresh rate and a centred punch-hole. In the optics department, the device is said to feature a dual rear camera setup. The setup would comprise a primary 50MP Sony IMX 866 sensor and a secondary 12MP Sony IMX 663 ultra-wide-angle sensor. Vivo will likely equip the smartphone with a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The smartphone will be backed by a 4400 mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging tech.
