Vivo X Fold 2 Design Teased

The Vivo X Fold 2 will launch in China in April 2023. Ahead of the official unveiling, the company has revealed the design (via) of its new foldable phone. The X Fold 2 will launch with a red colour option. The rear panel has a huge circular camera module towards the left of the display. It has a triple-camera setup on the back with an LED flash. The camera system will be tuned in collaboration with Zeiss optics.

On the outside, there is a tall cover screen. We can see a hole-punch cutout at the top centre of the phone. The right edge of the cover display seems to be a bit curved. At the event to which the local Chinese media was invited, Huang Tao, vice president of Products at Vivo, said that the X Fold 2 will be an all-round and light foldable phone.

The foldable Vivo phone was spotted on AnTuTu recently. It confirmed that the X Fold 2 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The device could well be the first foldable phone to feature the flagship Qualcomm SoC. In addition to this, the listing revealed that the phone will launch with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

It will run Android 13 out of the box and should have a layer of Origin OS Forest for the Chinese market.

Other specifications of the phone have leaked as well. It is tipped to sport an 8-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a 4800mAh battery as well. The foldable phone is likely to support 120W fast charging out of the box.

On the back, the triple-camera setup will feature a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). There will also be a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide camera and a Sony IMX663 12MP telephoto camera sensor. Other details about the X Fold 2 are unknown.
