Vivo has also teased the launch of it’d first clamshell-style foldable phone in China. The company will launch the Vivo X Flip in its home country soon. A lot is expected from the premium foldable phones from Vivo. The rumour mill has been constantly churning out key specs and features of the Vivo foldable phones ahead of their debut. Now, a new leak has revealed the launch date of the Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip.

According to a Weibo tipster, the X Fold 2 and X Flip will launch in China in the third week of April. The company is also likely to launch the Vivo Pad 2 alongside. Let’s take a look at the Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip specifications, features and other details.

Vivo X Fold 2, Vivo X Flip Launch: Here’s When the Foldable Phones Might Launch

The Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip will be new premium foldable phones from the company. The devices might launch in global markets as well. Ahead of the official announcement, a new leak by notable tipster Panda is Bald has revealed that the X Fold 2 and X Flip will launch in China on April 20. The event is scheduled to begin at 19.00 hours local time.

Vivo is yet to confirm the details officially. Therefore, we advise taking the leaked date with a pinch of salt.

The tipster also added an image, which shows the design of the foldable phones. The X Flip has a circular camera module on the outside, below which is a rectangular display. The clamshell-style foldable phone has a dual-camera setup on the back.

The X Fold 2’s design was already revealed by the company, which shows a triple-camera setup and an LED flash module placed inside the circular camera module. The camera system will be tuned in collaboration with Zeiss. Other details about the foldable phone have leaked as well.

The X Fold 2 is said to feature an 8.03-inch Samsung E6 AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1916-pixel resolution. The foldable display will have support for a 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits of peak brightness. On the outside, the X Fold 2 will sport a 6.53-inch AMOLED display with a 2520 x 1080-pixel resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There will be a hole-punch cutout for the 32MP front camera.

The phone will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and launch with at least 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. There will be a 4800mAh battery with 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. The triple-camera setup will feature a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera and two Sony IMX663 12MP sensors for ultra-wide and telephoto shots.

The X Flip, on the other hand, is likely to feature 44W charging support for the 4400mAh battery. It will launch with a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera and a 12MP Sony IMX663 ultra-wide camera. The phone is likely to feature a 16MP front camera. Under the hood, there will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The phone is likely to sport a 6.8-inch AMOLED foldable display.
