Vivo, last year, launched the X Fold as its first foldable phone in China. The company launched its first foldable phone with premium hardware, such as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a beefy 4600mAh battery and an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display. It later refreshed the phone with the Vivo X Fold+ that packed the better Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, a bigger 4780mAh battery and other upgraded hardware. Now, Vivo is tipped to launch the Vivo X Fold 2 in the coming months. The original X Fold was launched in April 2022. We can expect Vivo to launch the X Fold 2 around the same time this year.

Vivo X Fold 2 Tipped to Pack a Big Battery

The Vivo X Fold 2 is said to get some upgraded hardware under the hood. The foldable phone will pack a beefy battery than the outgoing model. The X Fold was launched with a 4600mAh battery, whereas the X Fold+ came with a 4780mAh battery. Now, tipster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the X Fold 2 will pack two 2340mAh battery cells, which will combine offer a 4800mAh battery. The battery bump is incremental compared to the X Fold+. However, the upcoming Vivo foldable phone is said to get a major upgrade in the charging department.

The tipster noted that the X Fold 2 will have support for 120W wired fast charging out of the box. The X Fold+, in comparison, has support for 80W fast charging. We can expect the upcoming model to support wireless charging as well.

Vivo is also said to launch the foldable phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. It is said to be the first foldable smartphone with the current Qualcomm flagship SoC. Other details about the phone were tipped in the past as well.

The X Fold 2 is said to sport a 2K AMOLED foldable display. The foldable phone is also said to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner on the cover display. It will feature a Sony IMX866 primary camera sensor with support for optical image stabilisation (OIS). Vivo launched the X Fold with a quad-camera setup. We can expect the X Fold 2 to offer the same number of cameras on the back.

The foldable phone is also said to be a lot lighter than its predecessor model, the X Fold+, which weighs about 311 grams. It is quite significant compared to Find N2, which weighs about 235 grams and the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which weighs about 263 grams.
